Pop-Up Confidence Lab: New Year Edition

A half-day confidence boost for middle years students

January 2 • 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Start the new year with clarity, courage, and confidence.

This pop-up lab is designed to help middle years students step into 2026 feeling stronger inside. Through fun activities, real-life scenarios, and simple tools they can use right away, students will learn what it really means to take up space, speak up, and show up confidently (even when situations feel uncomfortable or tough.)

We’ll explore how to:

• take up space with confidence

• stand tall and use their voice clearly

• respond in straightforward, grounded ways

• handle rude comments, peer pressure, and conflict with others

• stay calm and steady in tricky moments

• build real-world courage they can carry into a new year

This workshop is practical, interactive, and supportive. Students will walk away with tools they can use at school, with friends, at home, and in any situation where they need to feel more sure of themselves.

Who This Is For

Middle years students (grades 5–8) who want to:

• feel more confident

• learn how to speak up

• handle social challenges

• navigate conflict without freezing

• start the year with a stronger sense of self

A Note for Shy Kids

If you have a shy child, please know they will never be pushed out of their comfort zone. Participation is always an invitation, never an expectation. If they prefer to watch, observe, and join in when they feel ready, there is a place for them here.

Why This Matters

Middle years can be overwhelming. Friendships shift, challenges show up, and students often struggle to express themselves or know how to respond in the moment. This lab gives them the language, confidence, and skills they need to feel grounded and capable (now and in the year ahead.)
