A New Chapter for Our Family

So… it’s happening.
Yes—these country folks are moving to the city.
Can you believe it?
After 11 beautiful years on our acreage, raising our family in the close-knit community of Bellevue, we’ve decided to make a move—to Prince Albert.
Our home, our people—Bellevue has been more than a place. For the past 11 years, we’ve had the privilege of raising our kids surrounded by open skies and open roads, strong community, and friendships we’ll always treasure.
So… why move?
The honest answer?
Because we’ve had a persistent pull toward something different.
Not better.
Not easier.
Just… different.
And over time, that quiet voice became harder to ignore.
We started to notice how often we’d say things like,
“Wouldn’t it be nice if…”
“Can you imagine what it would be like to…”
And then we’d brush those thoughts away.
Because people like us?
We’re supposed to stay.
But eventually we realized—we were staying because it was comfortable.
And sometimes, comfort can get in the way of growth.
Growth happens in discomfort.
That’s something I say in my coaching work with youth all the time. But now, we’re living it out ourselves.
We’re moving not because we want to leave something behind—but because we’re leaning into the unknown, hoping to stretch, grow, and evolve as a family.
Will it be challenging? Definitely.
Are we nervous? Of course.
But growth doesn’t happen when everything stays the same. It happens in the in-between—in the awkward, unfamiliar, slightly scary spaces.
What does this have to do with youth coaching and my business?
Honestly?
Nothing.
And everything.
This isn’t a business post. But it’s deeply aligned with the values I carry into my work:
Listening to your inner nudge
Letting yourself wonder
Giving yourself permission to explore the what ifs
And having the courage to say, “Let’s just try.”
So, if you’re reading this and you’ve had that persistent little thought—you know the one—I hope you don’t shut it down right away.
I hope you listen.
I hope you give yourself permission to wonder.
To dream a little longer before letting the “Nah, I can’t do that” thoughts take over.
To lean into the unknown—just a bit.
To choose curiosity over fear.
To remember that nothing is permanent. And everything is a chance to grow.

We’re doing this for our kids, too.
We only get a few more years before our kids are old enough to spread their wings—and we want those years to count.
We want them to grow more resilient, more adaptable, more socially confident. We want them to experience the kind of personal growth that can only come from stepping into new environments, navigating uncertainty, and discovering that they are more capable than they realized.
This move opens doors for them—and for us.
It gives us new spaces to meet people, build new friendships (and strengthen existing ones), and experience growth not just as a family, but as individuals.
And now feels like the right time.
There’s one part of this place that has been especially hard to imagine walking away from: the school. But what makes that goodbye easier is knowing that Bellevue School is in truly exceptional hands. The leader is not only experienced and deeply committed, but she leads with boldness, clarity, and compassion. There is a strong vision, a contagious energy, and a heartfelt sense of purpose guiding every decision. The staff is creative, capable, and fully invested in the students. It brings us real peace to know that this school—this place we care so deeply about—will continue to grow, thrive, and inspire, even as we step away.
Why Prince Albert?
For now, it checks off all the things we’re craving in this season:
New opportunities for our kids
Access to programs and amenities
A house that needs a little love (hello, renovations!!)
And a new kind of energy we’re excited to step into
It’s not far—we’re still close to our village.
But it’s far enough to challenge us.
To stretch us.
To shake things up in the best way.
Will Prince Albert be our forever home?
Who knows.
What we do know is that right now, we're choosing growth over comfort.
We're embracing change rather than resisting it.
We're stepping into the unknown…on purpose.
Thank you, Bellevue, for everything you've given us.
You'll always be part of our story.
And we’re carrying all the love, all the memories, and all the beautiful moments we’ve experienced here with us.
